● How did you organise the groups?
Groups of 2 for the beginning of the story and groups of 2 for the end of the story.
● What was the sequence of tasks that you followed to get to the final product?
Stage 1
Generating ideas by brainstorming and discussion.
Stage 2
Students organise ideas and create a preview of what it would be like.
Stage 3
I go around the class answering questions and correcting student’s drafts.
Stage 4
They correct mistakes
Stage 5
Students exchange and read each other's work and wrote an ending for the story.
● What were the specific learning objectives for this activity? How did the use of the tool help the learners achieve these objectives? Please be specific and give concrete examples.
The objectives were:
Write a love story
Design a coherent plot
Use ICT
Use related vocabulary to the “love” field
Students were motivated about this activity and they had so much fun because at the end they could see what other students wrote for the ending of their story. Using ICT was obviously achieved and because the tool was easy to use they easily corrected what was wrong and practiced the vocabulary we were dealing with at that moment.
● In what ways (be specific) was creativity and the use of imagination encouraged in your students?
Absolutely, they were allowed to write about whatever they wanted to if it was related to the topic. And there were many different ideas that ended up very different.
● What did your students enjoy most / least about this activity?
They told me they loved the creativity aspect, as they could use their imagination and have fun without restrictions.
The thing they didn’t enjoy was the learning of the tool, but it wasn’t really difficult at the end.
● What would you change next time?
I wouldn’t change anything just try different topics and let them even decide what to write about. However, making the story last a little longer would be a good idea.
● How were the finished projects shared with the rest of the class?
They could access it on google drive and we put them on the classroom proyector.
What opportunities were there for students to co-evaluate and discuss the learning experience with each other?
This time they didn’t correct other students activities but next time I will let the ones who receive the story correct it as well.
I love how you’ve organised your blog and how visual it is. Also, in my opinion, you did a great job with this post on Pixton, everything was clearly explained and interesting to read, since you stuck to the points at hand.
ResponderEliminarAs something that could be improved, I would include some more gadgets so that the different parts of your blog can be accessed more quickly.
Thanks for your work, it’s fantastic!
